They did it. The folks at Propellerhead made MIDI more interesting. They also made it easier to use with your coveted, if not dust-covered, outboard gear.
Back in the day, hooking up MIDI in your studio was about as appealing as going to the dentist. But the great Peter Kirn from CreateDigitalMusic.com brings some decidedly non-dental news to the world of digital audio production.
It turns out that the upcoming release of Reason 7 will bring a brand new way to work with MIDI Output. It involves a series of virtual devices and connections that correspond to your outboard gear. Oh, and it looks incredibly slick too.
Peter did some Q&A with Propellerhead's Leo Nathorst-Böös and he's inviting more questions in the comments section which will no doubt be rewarded with answers from the horse's mouth.
So if you're a MIDI kinda guy (or gal), head over to CDM and check things out. After that, all that's left to do is wait for Reason 7.
